MYLIFESTYLE – Coldplay kembali menunjukkan komitmen mereka terhadap isu lingkungan dengan merilis album studio ke-10, “Moon Music”, Jumat 4 Oktober 2024. Tak hanya sekadar album musik, “Moon Music” hadir dengan inovasi unik: setiap vinyl dan CD album ini dibuat dari bahan daur ulang plastik yang berasal dari limbah sungai.

Saat wawancara dengan QVC Live, Chris Martin, vokalis Coldplay menjelaskan bahwa plastik untuk vinyl “Moon Music” dikumpulkan dari Sungai Klang di Malaysia dan Sungai Cisadane di Indonesia, berkat kolaborasi dengan organisasi nirlaba The Ocean Cleanup.

Organisasi ini telah bekerja di berbagai negara, termasuk Indonesia dan Malaysia, untuk membersihkan sungai dari polusi plastik.

Dengan langkah ini, Coldplay tidak hanya mempersembahkan karya musik baru, namun juga mempertegas peran mereka dalam mendukung gerakan pelestarian lingkungan. Vinyl daur ulang “Moon Music” bahkan memiliki fitur unik: mampu menembus cahaya saat terkena sinar, memberikan kesan estetis sekaligus inovatif.

Sementara itu, CD yang dirilis disebut sebagai EcoCD, merupakan CD pertama di dunia yang menggunakan 90 persen bahan polikarbonat daur ulang.

Album “Moon Music” berisi 20 lagu, termasuk kolaborasi dengan musisi seperti Little Simz, Burna Boy, Elyanna, dan TINI. Lagu “We Pray”, salah satu kolaborasi tersebut, turut memperkaya album ini dengan nuansa musik yang lebih beragam.

Di samping itu, selain merilis album, Coldplay masih melanjutkan tur dunia mereka bertajuk Music of the Spheres, yang hingga Agustus 2024 telah meraup pendapatan fantastis sebesar 945,7 juta dolar AS.

Coldplay bukan hanya menghibur penggemarnya di seluruh dunia, tetapi juga mengajak mereka ikut peduli pada masalah lingkungan melalui karya dan tindakan nyata.
